On September 28, 2021, the conference "International country and city rankings : methodology, data, transparency" will be held following the 63rd ISI World Statistics Congress. The event is organized by the Federal State Statistics Service in cooperation with the Moscow City Government and the Moscow Analytical Center. The conference will be held in hybrid mode, online and  live - in Moscow (39, Miasnitskaya St., bldg. 1).

International rankings affect all spheres of countries, regions and cities life. It is an important modern tool for decision making.
However, the results of rankings are not always clear and transparent - in addition to official statistics, alternative data sources, estimates, various methodological approaches are often used.  It complicates data verification and understanding by users.
Therefore, it is necessary to ensure an open dialogue and develop effective mechanisms for interaction with international organizations and ranking agencies.
