The Federal State Statistics Service (Rosstat) took part in the 73rd Plenary Session of the Conference of European Statisticians (CES), held from
June 16 to 18, 2025.
This key international event brings together heads and experts of national statistical offices from across the European region to discuss current challenges
in the development of official statistics.
The Russian delegation presented the Strategy for development of National Statistical System and Rosstat until 2030, shared Russia’s experience in alternative data sources application (including mobile operator data) and plans for the digitalization of the Agricultural Census 2027.
In his speech, Dmitry Kenchadze, Deputy Head of Rosstat, emphasized:
“The technological foundation of the Strategy is the creation of a modern digital system that integrates all stages of statistical data production—planning, collection, processing, and dissemination. This will allow businesses to submit reports limited with well-defined and clear set of indicators, while users gain access to data and metadata via a ‘single digital window.”
The Strategy also aims at incorporation of Big Data and AI in collection and processing of statistics. The delegation also shared Russia’s best practices in conducting population and housing censuses, as well as statistical surveys innovative approaches.
Rosstat reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening international cooperation and adopting of innovative solutions.
