Cooperation with BRICS countries

The interstate association BRICS (acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) was initiated in 2006. It turned out to be one of the most important geopolitical events at the dawn of the new century. In a short time, the association has become a significant factor in the global policy.

The interaction of Rosstat with the statistical offices of BRICS countries is carried out mainly in the format of expert meetings for preparation of Joint Statistical Publication and a Meeting of Heads of National Statistical Offices.

The publication is prepared annually, starting 2010, and presented at the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the BRICS countries.

The publication contains general information about countries, as well as detailed data on changes in the most important macroeconomic and social indicators, such as indicators of economic activity of the population, GDP dynamics and structure, price indices and population living standards. In addition, there are data on the production of the most important industrial and agricultural products; development characteristics of various spheres of energy, transport, communications, finance, foreign economic relations of countries, as well as data on ecology.
