Russia stands for modernization of statistics
On 20-21 June, the 72nd plenary session of the Conference of European Statisticians was held in Geneva. The session was attended by Ilya Matyushev, Deputy Head of the International Statistics Department of Rosstat.
The session was opened with the participation of the UN Regional Committee on Global Geospatial Information Management for Europe. Participants discussed modernization of statistics, integration
of geospatial data and implementation of artificial intelligence.
Rosstat has consistently supported the general trend of active implementation of modern digital technologies in official statistics. Ilya Matyushev noted that geospatial data are widely used in Russia
for population and agricultural censuses.
Special attention was paid to the updating of the Manual on the System of National Accounts. Currently, its development has been finalized. The full draft of SNA 2025 is to be presented at the regular session of the UN Statistical Commission in March 2025.
